Sharing Hope

I am not a health care professional or a doctor. I cannot speak to the virus itself or to anything medically related to it. I have researched as much as google will tell me!

What I am, is a minister. Not always the greatest one. But I love the Lord, I fear Him and I try to obey His commands. I also have a deep love for His Church and His Word.

May I share with you a few thoughts that have helped give me healthy perspective during this time and any difficult time. (Remember, it is often hard to gain perspective while in the maze. Thus, we look to the One who is far above the maze!)

  1. God is in control. This has never changed. This virus has not surprised Him.
  2. Jesus’ blood is enough. He didn’t die only for our sins, but for our healing. Trust Him.
  3. Fear God rather than this virus. This is the beginning of wisdom.
  4. Be wise. Not to balance the last statement, but we are called to be wise and harmless.
  5. Have grace. There is a lot we don’t understand and a lot that individuals are going through financial, emotionally and physically. Be sensitive of that. Jesus always looked at people with compassion, even if He thought they should think differently than they were.
  6. Pray. This should be our first response not our last resort. If you haven’t yet, why don’t you pause, take a moment and pray for those affected.
  7. Share hope. This is what sets the church apart from the rest of the world in a lot of ways. It would be a shame if the place people could find hope was unavailable to them. I’m not talking about the church building, I’m talking about the Church.

To those who are affected in any way by this virus, my prayers are for you. You don’t have to live in fear, you can find peace in Christ Jesus. He is the author of life and hope. May you find Him during this time of unrest in the world.
